The Algodonera complex, located in the suburbs of Greater Buenos Aires, emerges as an urban landmark within an area of more than 7 hectares, providing 47,100 m² of housing with parking spaces designed for its residents. The irregular urban fabric, crossed by a stream, contrasts with the orthogonal geometry of the residential volumes, while its main avenue, internal streets, and green spaces give the complex an organic character, reinforcing this interplay of forms.
The structure and identity of the abandoned Algodonera factory are preserved and repurposed as a commercial area to serve the complex, integrating the project’s new vision with the site’s existing elements.
Composed of two building typologies, each with a ground floor and five upper levels, the development is organized into two- and three-room apartments that visually open toward the internal plazas, the stream, and the surrounding urban landscape. With a simple and contemporary character, these buildings adapt seamlessly to both their environment and their function.
